David Glick, founder and Chief Executive of Edge Investments is renowned as one of the creative economy’s pre-eminent dealmakers. David is passionate about creativity and helping portfolio companies grow their potential. In November 2015 Edge launched its Creative Enterprise Fund, a £40 million fund with backing from the British Business Bank. This is now fully invested in a highly regarded portfolio of creative economy businesses. In February 2021 Edge completed a first close on commitments of £75 million of a new fund called Create the Future, again with the backing of the British Business Bank.
An experienced investor in creativity, David has been involved in investing in, mentoring, and the sale and purchase of, multi-million-pound entertainment and media assets, having invested in fast growing businesses such as deltaDNA (now part of Unity Technologies), A Million Ads, the innovative platform for producers and creatives to personalise audio adverts, Jungle Creations the leading producer of social content and Trint the AI powered transcription & collaboration platform.
A former solicitor, David co-founded Eatons, a leading music and entertainment law firm, in 1990; in 2000, Eatons merged with law firm Mishcon de Reya where he became head of the entertainment and media group. In 2004, he formed the Edge group of companies as a specialist investment and advisory business for the entertainment and media sector, before selling the advisory business in 2011 to concentrate on venture capital investing. David was an important part of the team at iconic fashion brand Alexander McQueen also an advisor, executive and a non-executive director of Entertainment Rights (now part of DreamWorks), the UK media business which was quoted on the Official List and which grew from a start-up to a market capitalisation of approximately £380 million.
David is an alumnus of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business (Executive Leadership Programme), a Trustee of Sarabande Foundation, a charity established with his friend and former colleague the late Lee Alexander McQueen to offer support and mentorship to young people in the creative industries and a Trustee of environmental arts foundation Voice for Nature, in addition to being the Chairman of Tap Music, working with global artists across all facets of the entertainment and sports businesses.
