Lisa Gordon
ADVISOR

Lisa Gordon

A finance high-flyer with a deep understanding of a wide range of creative media, Lisa isn’t afraid to ruffle feathers in the City.

  • Founder of Local World, a leading UK media company, acquired by Reach Plc
  • Chairwoman of the City stockbroker, Cenkos Securities
  • Oversaw Cenkos’ merger with rival finnCap
  • Non-executive director at M&C Saatchi and Magic Light Pictures
  • Youngest female director of a publicly listed company

Professional experience

When she was moved to a corner table at the City of London Club in 2022 because of her ‘flatforms’ – ie Russell & Bromley trainers – Lisa Gordon found herself in the media spotlight and vowed never to return to the club. To paraphrase a line from Dirty Dancing, nobody puts Lisa in a corner.

She has been carving her own path through a predominantly male world for over 30 years and is now chairwoman of the City stockbroking firm, Cenkos Securities. Her trailblazing first received attention when – age 28 – she was appointed to the board of Chrysalis, making her, at the time, the youngest female director of a publicly listed company.

While at Chrysalis, she was pivotal in the company’s successful diversification from music into other media. Lisa’s unusual background, straddling the worlds of finance and creative media, makes her a perfect fit for her advisory role at Edge.

Beyond the office

On the rare occasions when Lisa is not juggling between her chair, board and non-exec roles, she can be found swimming, finding peace and quiet when submerged
