Professional experience

James is a Venture Partner at Edge Investments. He has spent his career building leading brands from within some of the world’s most celebrated creative organisations.

Before collaborating with Edge, James held a series of creative leadership roles in US-based technology companies. Following a stint with Google, James joined Airbnb in San Francisco as Global Head of Creative. Through 6 years of hypergrowth, he oversaw the creative expression of the global Airbnb brand across the customer experience, ranging from marketing campaigns to on-platform product content. In addition to his global creative role, James was a member of both the marketing and product design leadership teams and held a key role on the senior team that led the business to a successful IPO in December 2020.

As a proven operator who knows what it takes to build great products and brand value on a global scale, James now advises growing brands and businesses on their product vision and brand strategy, helping founders create operational excellence and high-performance cultures that drive commercial growth.

Beyond the office
