Professional experience
Since graduating from Cambridge with a double first in Law, Rona Fairhead has accumulated the kind of CV that would stop any prospective employer in their tracks. Prior to landing the job of Chair of the BBC Trust in 2014, she kept a famously low profile (she apparently gave only two interviews in the preceding 30 years) but during that time she spent long periods in senior positions at Bombardier, ICI and the Financial Times, while also accruing a fistful of senior non-executive directorships.
It was during her time at the FT that she worked alongside the famously formidable, Marjorie Scardino. The experience seemed to turbo charge her career and following her high-profile stint at the BBC, she went on to become Minister of State at the post-Brexit Department of International Trade. With this level of elite experience, she brings an enormous amount to the table in her role as Edge advisor.
