Blast nominated for a Sports Emmy Award

21st April 2023

BLAST has been nominated for a Sports Emmy Award. Last year’s BLAST Premier Fall Final Copenhagen coverage, via BLAST.tv, has been selected for the ‘Outstanding Esports Championship Coverage’ category at the 44th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, taking place in New York.

Last November’s Fall Final saw HEROIC become the first Danish team to win in Royal Arena, a venue that has become synonymous with some of Counter-Strike and BLAST’s most famous moments. The tournament coverage was shown on BLAST.tv, the company’s custom and in-house built innovative live viewing platform, which allowed viewers to get closer to the action in Copenhagen than ever before:

  • The community were able to impact and shape areas of the show and broadcast.
  • Fans asked pro-players questions directly, choosing which team walked out first in the arena and deciding the topic on the analyst desk.
  • An interactive timeline feature, catalogued standout highlights to be replayed instantly on the playback timeline.
  • A custom built video player with 4K capabilities and a moderated live chat feature enabled fans to connect with a like-minded community.
